3 inches in 6 months Challenge!

How do you readers feel about joining me in a length retention challenge?

Hair grows an average of 0.5in/month.  (Some people get less growth and others get more.)  For this challenge, we'll aim to retain 2-3 inches in 6 months.  Guidelines will be posted later this week to help you through the process.  Also, we'll be in touch on a monthly basis. If you are interested, please leave a comment below.

Challenge period: February 1 - August 1, 2011.

Healthy hair in 2011!

  1. I'm all in. I was already planning on stepping up my growth game for the next six months, so this is right on time.

  3. I'd love to! I just don't know if it is my fault or if my hair just doesn't grow that fast but in almost one year I've only been able to retain 2 inches!!
Would really love to join and see if

  10. I'm so in! I may have to revise my take on the protective styling though bc I work out frequently. I have to at least rinse my hair every couple of days and wash every week. I don't know how well twists will hold up under those conditions and I don't have the time to re-do them every week either. Any suggestions?

Also, I'm going to let my youtube subbies know about this challenge too!

  11. @all: Welcome, ladies! :o)

@MissAfrobella: You can cleanse the scalp with witch hazel or a dry shampoo (e.g., Organic Root Stimulator) + a towel in between washes. (I may write a post with more details.) P.S. Thanks for spreading the word! :o)

  12. I am interested in joining. Several inches were cut off on July and I am still trying to get my healthy, longer hair in check! The winter has had it super dry:(

  14. I am new to your site...and I have read several of your posts, including the entire twist series...Your site is extremely informative, and I appreciate this information so much.

I am definetly in for this Challenge! Question: Can I style my twists on dry hair? I find it so much easier to twist and retain the length when my hair is dry.

    Thank you again.
