3in6: Challenge Ends!

For the challenge guidelines, see this post.

The 3in6 Challenge ended yesterday! I won't be doing an official length check until August 1st (which marks my 6 month update since my nappiversary).  However, I can tell, that at the very least, my front hair has grown.  For some time, I thought it had reached its terminal length, but I was wrong.

Will I be holding another 3in6 Challenge?  I don't know.  I feel that my hair is at a length that calls for a regimen change in terms of styling.  It is something I have to ponder over this coming weekend.   Thank you to all the ladies who joined in on this challenge.  I hope you found it successful!

Did you retain any length from this 3in6 Challenge?

  1. The 3 in 6 was successful for me. I haven't measured my hair recently but I can definitely tell that I have retained length because my twists are hanging more. Thanks and I hope you continue it.

  2. It was successful for me, because I regained most of the length that was cut away in November.

Very pleased! It's fuller this time, and I only have two more inches to go.

  3. I believe so, I at least retained length...yay! I'm not so happy though, because the longer my hair gets (WL now) the thinner it looks (I don't have all that body near head anymore due to heaviness of the hair?) Wondering about this....or is it age (I turned 30 a yr ago)? Anyway, happy to have participated in the challenge, bc I discovered some new healthy ways to moisturize and protect.

    1. Hi Noiree. I don't think it's age but just the nature of our hair as it gets longer. One way to mitigate that is to set up a trimming regimen until your hair starts to look fuller at the ends. I've been thinking about doing this myself. I'm saying this all under the assumption that your hair is not "too" thin at the ends. Either way, Congratulations on retaining length. That's a major step towards healthy hair. Thank you for participating. :o)

  4. I ended up cutting my hair. You know I would like to see more pics of your hair. That's the one thing I feel like your blog is missing.

    1. Sorry to hear about the hair cut, but then again, health must come before length.

I plan to post length photos in late July or early August. One conflict I've been having with this blog is whether to talk more about my own hair (which would include more photos of my hair) OR whether to mainly talk about healthy hair (and body) care in general. I might return to posting my monthly playlists or finding another middle ground. It's something to think about. Thanks for the input. :o)

    2. Loo, I was actually going through some drama in my life and felt I needed a new look, I also ended up coloring my hair too.

How about a post about your hair twice a month and a picture as well. I just adore your hair!

    3. I hear ya. Sometimes we need that external change.

That's a good idea about how to incorporate the posts. I'll see if I can factor in twice a month updates or something close to that. Thanks for the compliment! :o)
