1in3: Two Months Down!

Hi, ladies!  Yesterday, we started our final month of the 1in3 challenge!  (For challenge guidelines, read this post.)

So, how was November?  I'm still in box braids and fine with that!  I had planned to take them down this weekend, but life won't allow me.  Perhaps in mid December.

The braid extensions are holding up pretty well.  (See box braid regimen description here.)  When I do take them down, I plan to switch to my usual twists for the remainder of the month.  Other than the external, I'm still going hard on my smoothies and have also incorporated teas (for relaxation and antioxidants).  (Check these posts for smoothie recipes and a later post about my new tea habit.)

How was your November?  Any challenges/lessons?  What are you doing this month?

MOTIVATION FOR THE MONTH:
Finish the journey strong.  Even if you've fallen, don't stay down ... Get back up, and finish it with all you've got! :o)

  3. I had my hair out for a day in a twist out for new headshots. Now it's in loose twists to start the month off.

  4. I took my twists down today, it was the longest I've gone with braids all my life :-) But the shedding was phenomenal, I didn't like seeing so much hair, a lot came off during take down, and detangling. But on the other hand, my hair is fuller and noticeably longer, I don't know if I could have done better without the braids. I was instantly defeated while trying to two strand twist. I'm wearing it blown out for a few days then getting someone else to twist on Tuesday

    1. Thank you for checking in, Mrs Jai! The shedding might be normal if you wore your in a protective style for so long, but I'm not there and can't say for show. However, Congrats on the increased fullness and length!

  5. I've been total suck about remembering to check in on here, but I'm still in this thang! Honestly, it's such a way of life (in the hair care aspects), that time passes and I don't even notice that we've passed a milestone. I succeeded in my 100% protective styling for October, wearing headwraps and wigs, and I wore some bantu knots for 3 or four days, in there. So, my ends have been completely covered at all times, which has been really good. I actually managed to carry on with it through November, and also into this month, so far. I don't mind hiding my hair at all, now that the weather is getting cold.

I've finally gotten back on the workout wagon, but with baby steps. I'm working on upping my number of days per week, but right now the main objective is to just stick with it. Also working on improving my eating (perpetually), along with my water intake. But, I'm sitting with some green tea and eating an apple as I write this, so I can't be doing all that bad!
