Healthy Recipes || Banana-less Green Smoothies

I have nothing against bananas (and actually enjoy their health benefits), but have you noticed how they are a critical ingredient in most "green smoothie" recipes?  I presume this inclusion is because blending bananas into such smoothies is a quick and easy way to sweeten or mask the taste of ... well, the green vegetables.  However, if for whatever reason, you do not want to add bananas to your green smoothies, there are banana-less recipes out there.  Here are a few:

  1. I will definitely have to make these green smoothie recipes. I love bananas I actually have them everyday, especially with oatmeal. I think that they are essential for any green smoothie recipe, to the point where I won't make a green smoothie if there isn't any bananas on hand. However, I want the option of having my green smoothies even though I don't have any bananas. Thank you! --Lilia,www.liliashealthbook.blogspot.com

    1. Same here, Lilia. You make a good point ... even for banana lovers, these recipes come in handy when there are no bananas around. Glad to share ... and love your blog! :o)

  2. I love these ideas. Unlike many juicers, I do not like bananas very much and when you add 1/2 a banana to a juice, it seems to overwhelm all of the other great things in the juice. I often really on apples, coconut milk, mango, or even a little wheatgrass for sweetness.

    1. Yes, bananas sure have a way of wiping away the taste most times. I'm glad I could pass on these recipes to you all. Maybe I'll try adding apples next time! :o)

  4. Hey the recipes look great! Ive actually never used a banana in my green juices and smoothies! My go-to all necessary fruit would be an apple or two and maybe raspberries blueberries strawberries etc! I recently tried spinach and mango at this cafe. It was a delicious green smoothie without banana. I have to try putting grapes in mine
