Wednesday's Hair Growth Tip!

3. Exercise

Though I have found no research on the topic, it is a belief of mine that regular exercise helps with optimal hair growth. After all, exercise increases blood circulation in certain sections of the body, such as the skin of the head. Increased blood circulation in this region may allow for more nutrients to reach the follicles. The more these follicles are fed, the more they flourish.

Years ago, I found this to be true while having a difficult time maintaining a fresh perm as an active member of a track-and-field team. Constant cardiovascular workouts alternated with weightlifting repetitions followed by an immediate abundance of new growth. Now, maybe my hair grew faster back then because I was younger. (Hair growth does slow down with age.) Or perhaps it was reversion. (Nope. My hair was growing more than it was reverting.) Or the possibility could lie in each follicle merely receiving food to its heart's content due to exercise. I'm inclined to believe the latter most explanation. Exercise!
