2010 Body Buys!

Last summer, I parted ways with my antibacterial Dial body soap and started the search for a more natural and gentle alternative. After some trial and error, I am still on the hunt but warmer than before I began. Two of my new buys for 2010 are Pure & Natural Body Wash with vanilla seeds and mango butter and Burt's Bees Milk & Shea Butter Body Bar. A full review of these purchases will be coming in the near future ...

In the mean time, here is some food for thought:
* Antibacterial soaps have been said to perform no better than regular soaps
* Antibacterial soaps may contribute to the rise of resistant bacteria
* Triclocarban, which is found in many antibacterial soaps, may cause reduced fertility in women and men and increase breast and prostate cancers

Now, I'll close by stating that the latter two bullet points are debatable, so definitely DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH before tossing out your antibacterial products.

**Both products were purchased at Walmart.

Ahh, I've missed you. I was just coming over here to comment on your post from last week, when i realized that you posted today! Did you get rid of your Dial soap for the reasons listed here? Dial was/is one of my favorite soaps. Right now I'm using Ivory with aloe.

Welcome back!

Hey Dee. Yep, these are the reasons I stopped using Dial ... especially the first one even if the last two are debatable. I also feel better about using 'more natural' products since I recognize more of the ingredients listed and thus know what I'm putting on my body.

Loo - Good decision to toss the antibacterial soap. And thanks for the link to my article. All this time later and it continues to be in the top 10 or popularity.

Carol's Daughters body washes are great. I am addicted to them lol. I have also tried and completely used up the Almond Oil and Cherry Blossom Pure and Natural body wash.

Oooh, now I didn't know she made body washes, too. Thanks for the review! Those sound yummy.
