Henna Melt Giveaway!
The owner of The Hair Shebang has graciously offered two ROOI Henna Melts for this giveaway. These melts are easy, ready-to-use henna treatments molded into beautiful rosy heart shapes, rectangles or squares. They are perfect for those who are shy when it comes to experimenting with henna or Ayurvedic powders. The ROOI ones, in particular, yield beautiful, wine burgundy highlights.

I strengthen/protect my hair with protective styles, usually twists, and pre-pooing every time before I shampoo.
Every 6 weeks I apply my henna treatment, which works just fine for me!

Right now, I try to keep my hair strong by regular deep conditioners that contain protein (every week or two), and using plenty of coconut oil on my hair in general. I think the most important thing to keep my breakage to a minimum (though it is STILL more than I'd like) is leaving my hair in styles that last a week at a minimum, and generally two or more.
I protect my hair by using a wide-tooth comb along with gentle detangling techniques, a moisturizing shampoo, using a glycerin spritz whenever it feels dry and sealing with a hair butter mix (shea, coconut oil, castor) afterwards. I also wear braid or twist updos 95% of the time. A silk or satin scarf at bedtime is a must.
I do my best to ensure my hair is properly moisturized each day to protect it from drying out. I also do protein treatments to protect my fragile ends.
